Weak-Variety-4307
This user argues that, if capacity is the issue, pausing sign-ups is preferable to admitting everyone and lowering allowances.
A conditional user opinion, not an official explanation or reopening date.

Charuru / Dangerous-Sport-2347
Charuru worries demand could keep outgrowing supply and prevent reopening. A reply points to chips, data centers and model optimization as possible relief, with uncertain timing.
Concern and counterargument, not confirmation of permanent discontinuation.

gotozero / cloudwide / LearnAsIGo
The author speculates about a 20X price increase, while cloudwide imagines higher tiers. LearnAsIGo and others disagree, citing competitive pressure.
Specific prices in the thread are guesses without official backing. This thread does not mention 30X.

LazyRunner777 / Ok-File-2759
The author asks whether access could become a legacy benefit and whether price or limits might change. One reply guesses one or two months, based on a past pause.
Anecdotal analogy is not a forecasting dataset or a promised reopening month.

wSmoothie / OpenAI_Support
wSmoothie requested stacking to 30X, 40X and 50X. The OpenAI_Support account replied that more tiers and stacking ideas would be passed along, without a timeline.
This predates the pause. A feature request does not mean 30X will replace 20X.

evacc44 / EquivalentHornet4403
evacc44 predicts a shift to usage-only billing. A reply notes that profit pressure, efficiency improvements and cheaper competition pull pricing in different directions.
Business-model speculation, from the same thread as the legacy-access discussion above; not an independent event.

Limp-Marsupial-6795 / CryLast4241
One user says $200 is their spending ceiling. Another would pay more for enough usage to support a full working week. Affordability and work value lead to different expectations.
Personal budgets and preferences, not new plan prices; this shares a thread with some views above.

CraftyCheeseburger / LazyRunner777
One user reports seeing a 20X option and interprets existing users as existing ChatGPT accounts. A reply says checkout would fail. The exchange highlights the gap between a displayed option and a completed purchase.
Conflicting account reports were not independently tested and do not establish general availability.

This review found no official announcement of permanent 20X discontinuation or a 30X replacement. The 30X request is real, but does not establish that the pause is a tier transition. These are scenarios assembled by this site, not an announced roadmap.
What would change this assessment
Our review criteria, not official commitments
- An official reopening date: record the announcement and its scope as a scheduled change.
- An official end to the pause, with purchase or upgrade access for the stated scope: mark that scope as reopened.
- A single-account option or community screenshot: retain it as an unverified lead, without claiming general availability.
Why there is no percentage yet
Plan availability is a separate decision. Reset history cannot substitute for reopening history, and multiple reports of one pause are not independent samples. “Temporary” supplies no duration; model releases, capacity speculation and existing renewals do not establish a reopening date.
The outlook remains qualitative, with no countdown, invented odds or guarantee.
All reviewed on September 12, 2026. September 10 is the policy date stated in the FAQ; relative page-update labels are not announcement dates. Community speculation is not used to calculate odds.
